Eighteenmile Film

Eighteenmile Film is a short film shot during the last weeks of my mother’s life, in and around the creek behind her home. Composed of both static and handheld footage, the film captures water, light, and landscape as shifting emotional surfaces slowly accumulate.

The pacing is deliberate and contemplative, tracing absence and the weight of time passing. Movement is internal; it comes from the flow of the creek itself or the drift of the camera.

This piece is a formal experiment and a meditative act; A container. A place where loss is processed, mirrored in the movement of the water.
